ABOUT CALEB'S HEART MINISTRIES

Caleb, as one of the 12 spies sent into Cannan in the Old Testament to see if the land was ripe and ready for the Israelites to roll in and dominate, came back and said, “We can take’em. Let's go kick some tail and take some names!” The other spy that thought the same way was a guy named Joshua. He ended up taking charge of the Israelites when they finally got to go into the promised land.

It is the experience of our founder, Phil Floyd, that most men who walk with Christ for a few years start becoming bored with Jesus. They start getting apathetic about what the Kingdom of God is all about and they generally grow stale in their lives. They don’t know what it means to be a spiritual leader—yet they are regularly cajoled because they don’t do it well. Their wives want more from them spiritually—but they aren’t impassioned with their own spiritual depth and feel totally out of their depth trying to lead their woman in spiritual things. He eventually sells out to simply making sure everyone in his family goes to church each week. And he is genuinely shocked when his kids don’t continue in their faith after they leave home; yet they know intuitively that the reason might be because they themselves never really “got it” about being a passionate person for Christ.

Caleb’s Heart Ministries is a non-profit corporation in Colorado serving by it's 501(c) (3) tax exempt status with the IRS. It serves men and men’s ministries around the United States and the world with the message of Jesus Christ as the King of all.

ABOUT PHIL FLOYD, CHM FOUNDER

Phil Floyd is a native Texan who was raised in the Sonoran desert in Van Horn, Texas. He experienced a supernatural encounter with Jesus Christ early one morning in 1977 due to the intervention of a Christian girlfriend. It shocked him and changed him deeply. After a year of wandering around trying to figure out what happened to him that early morning, on a motorcycle ride through the Big Bend National Park—he fully submitted to Jesus Christ as his King.

He was ordained into ministry in 1984 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico and has been involved in full time, part time and voluntary ministry for 30 years. He has been a key leader in three church plants in California and Colorado. He is a self-described “Tent-Making Pastor” who is a Managing Partner for an employee benefits and retirement planning firm in Parker, Colorado and an active participant in his home church there.

Phil is dynamic, challenging, funny and engaging. His speaking style is genuine and transparent with a hint of self-deprecating humor. He is a thought provoking leader of men in a day when men are seeking heart-felt, masculine leadership. He ministers only to men—having little of value to offer women—except encouraging them to let their men be men (and even that gets him the evil eye sometimes).  Lory Floyd, his wife since 1982, leads women's book studies in their home throughout the year and facilitates WAAWG (Women Almost Alone with God) retreats.  Those are held in retreat centers; no campfires and no bugs!

Phils hobbies include backpacking, shooting sports, golf, wood-working and tinkering on his motorcycle. He has been married to Lory for 28 years.  They have one16 year-old son, Hunter, who is a high school wrestler.  Hunter is active in FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes).  Phil, aka "Petro" is honored to be a supporter of Soldiers for Jesus, MC--worldwide.
